Hoxie Mustangs played the Walnut Ridge Bobcats August 31, 2007 at Sexton Field to end the twin city rivalry that has existed for many years with a win by Hoxie 22-15. Both teams faught each other bitterly hard to the end and it will be sad to see the games end.

MVA on Hwy 67 bypass where an 18-wheeler lost control of his truck and crossed the median, striking the guard rail on the North side of traffic. The truck over turned and crushed the cab of the truck, pinning the driver inside. AR State Police, WR Police Dept, Lawrence County Sheriff's Dept along with WR Vol Fire Dept and Medic One Ambulance Service responded to the scene. The driver of the truck was not seriously injured and walked away with over 1 million safely driven miles on his record till Easter Day 2007.
