Lunar Eclipse - IMG 1092 edited-1
We have made pictures of the lunar eclipse. It was not easy to stay up till 3am, but it was worth it. When eclipse had just begun, we had to use short exposure: 400-500, or else all pictures were just bright circles. Canon 20D was monted on the tripod with a 300mm zoom lense. I also tried to use ND filter and circular polarizer, but it only made it worse.
As eclipse progressed and bigger part of the moon got darker, we had to use longer exposure with aperture fixed at 5.6. Around 2:52am PST the eclise was full and now we used exposure of 1.2 - 2 seconds with ISO pushed to 800.
