02 Pre show activities

ohn Rodeo steps into the ring and announces some sort of sale where the purchase of a t-shirt would result in a DVD discount. He generates some excitement from the crowd, leading a cheer and throwing t-shirts into the audience.

03 Antonio Thomas Addresses the crowd.

Antonio "The Promise" Thomas enters the ring and addresses the crowd. He suffered a Grade III concussion last month and is unable to wrestle in tonight's scheduled Triple Crown Championship match. Thomas is interrupted by the video board and a message from "Rock God" Brett Adams from his hotel suite in Hollywood. Thomas is then interrupted in person by the Crown Jewels, "Bad Boy" Jason and "Darling" Damon. Jason explains he suffered a pulled groin ("slipped on a shell" while modeling underwear at a photo shoot in Milan), and the Crown Jewels would be unable to participate in the tournament. He also says that with Thomas out of action, Damon is the number one contender for the Triple Crown Championship. Matt Storm enters the ring and confirms that Damon is the contender and will fight Max Bauer in the Triple Crown Championship match that night. He also says, as I understood it, that although the Crown Jewels would not be participating in the tournament, as the champions they are still required to defend the title. So, at the end of the night the Crown Jewels will be facing the winners of the Tag Team Classic Tournament in a title match.

04 "Natural" Scott Osborne and "Real Deal" Brandon Locke, "Real Natural" vs. Stupefied and Twiggy

1st match, round one. Referee: Rich Bass. The seriousness of Real Natural contrasted with the easygoing Stupefied and Twiggy who were having fun. Lots of high flying in this match. Twiggy (who was wearing a Player Uno t-shirt) tries to get a jump on Locke from off of the top rope but misses. Locke slams Twiggy to the mat and pins him while Osborne blocks Stupefied in his attempt to rescue his partner.

05 "Talent" T.J. Richter and John Munroe vs. "The Epic" Mike Bennett and Guy Alexander

2nd match, round one. Referee: Rob Teutel. Munroe's singlet features a belt, suspenders, and an imprinted tie. Lots of cheating behind the back of the referee. Richter goes up off the ropes to get someone but ends up getting Munroe instead (who first catches Richter in his arms and then in disgust elects to drop him). The match ends with one of the two, Bennett or Alexander, jumping off the top rope at Munroe. Munroe counters the move with a catch, but then the other Bennett/Alexander partner executes a flying dropkick off the ropes into the back of his caught partner, thus toppling and simultaneously slamming Munroe onto his back for the pin. After the match, Munroe and Richter get into an argument about what occurred.

06 Mikhail Ivanov and Aleksander Chekov, "Red Devil Fight Team" vs. Davey Loomis and Alex Payne

3rd match, round one. Referee: Rich Bass. The match starts with crowd chants of "U-S-A! U-S-A!". The match goes back and forth before the Red Devil Fight Team finally pull some slick move where they both pick up Loomis and, with a sort of twisting motion, slam him down to the canvas. Chekov pins Loomis for the win.

07 DC Dillinger Addresses the Crowd

D.C. Dillinger gets into the ring and calls out "Manager of Champions" Sean Gorman to tell him, "You're fired." Gorman doesn't accept this and refuses to leave. Dillinger proceeds to bodily force Gorman out of the ring, when suddenly from out of nowhere Alex "Golden Greek" Arion jumps into the ring and attacks Dillinger. After Arion runs him into the barricades a number of times, Dillinger is handcuffed to the ropes by Gorman and is unable to defend himself. Arion beats on Dillinger with a chain wrapped around his fist. After the attack is over Arion and Gorman start heading backstage, but Dillinger spits at Arion. Arion resumes his attack on the still-handcuffed Dillinger, this time with a folding chair. Arion and Gorman again start to leave, and once again Dillinger spits at Arion. Arion picks up the bell and takes a swing at Dillinger's head, but luckily it looks as if Dillinger might have missed the brunt of it. Arion and Gorman finally leave. Stagehands unhandcuff Dillinger and try to assist him, but he refuses their help, limping backstage under his own power.

08 Shane Matthews and Jagged, "2.0" vs. Ryan Bisbal and Don Vega (with Ivy, waving a Puerto Rican flag)

4th match, round one. Referee: Rob Teutel. Before the match, 2.0 take turns body slamming and elbow dropping a spectator's heavy metal band-themed teddy bear. 2.0 attack Bisbal and Vega from behind during their ring entrance to start the match. This is another back and forth match, and Vega pins Jagged for the win.

09 "Natural" Scott Osborne and "Real Deal" Brandon Locke, "Real Natural" vs. "The Epic" Mike Bennett and Guy Alexander

2nd half of the show starts - 1st match, round two. Referee: Rich Bass. The match starts with an attack from behind by Real Natural. It eventually ends with mayhem outside the ring as both pairs of teams go at it and people are slammed into the crowd barricades. With everyone outside the ring the match ends with a double count-out, and both teams are disqualified from the tournament. Because there are only two teams left, the next match will decide the winners of the Tag Team Classic tournament.

10 Mikhail Ivanov and Aleksander Chekov, "Red Devil Fight Team" vs. Ryan Bisbal and Don Vega (with Ivy), for the Tag Team Classic championship

Referee: Rob Teutel. Bisbal takes a really wicked hit to his leg as he was thrown out from the ring directly onto the metal guard rail below. The match was actually halted for a minute or so, and it looked as if he might have to go to the hospital. But, Bisbal elects to remain in the match. Despite the Red Devil Fight Team working on his severely injured leg, Bisbal manages to pin Ivanov for the win. Ryan Bisbal and Don Vega win the first annual NECW Tag Team Classic tournament, with Bisbal having to be helped out of the hall.

11 "Darling" Damon (with "Bad Boy" Jason) vs. the "Enforcer" Max Bauer (c.), for the Triple Crown Championship

Referee: Rob Teutel. This was an amusing and entertaining match that included antics such as: Max Bauer getting kissed on the lips by Damon, both Damon and Jason being thrown groin-first into a straddle onto the crowd barricade (exacerbating Jason's groin injury), and Bauer parading Damon around the outside of the ring and allowing little kids in the audience to administer chops to Damon! Bauer takes out Damon with a very audible kick, gets the pinfall, and retains the Triple Crown Championship.

12 "Handsome" Johnny (with Sammi Lane) vs. Pat "The Brat" Piper, in a Karaoke Battle

Joe Matterazzo hosts this match which is a two-out-of-three contest. In each round, each contestant sings a karaoke song picked by their opponent. 1st round, Johnny: "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred, and Piper: "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys. Johnny is not that great, while Piper sings well, even ad libbing new lyrics with Sammi Lane insults, and wins the first round. 2nd round, Piper: "Girl You Know It's True" by Milli Vanilli, and Johnny: "Fat" by Weird Al Yankovic. Piper lip synchs to the Milli Vanilli song, with the explanation that the original was lip synched. "Fat" is the parody song to the tune of Michael Jackson's "Bad", and to the delight of the crowd, Johnny suffers the humiliation of having to sing the lyrics, "I'm fat. I'm fat. I'm really, really fat." Since Piper didn't actually sing, Johnny is declared the winner of the second round. Final round: Johnny (in a duet with Sammi Lane): "Barbie Girl" by Aqua. Lane is a truly terrible singer, and Johnny isn't much better. Piper observes that the song's lyrics about being made of plastic apply well to Lane. Piper: "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice. Piper aces this one, singing without having to look at the lyrics on the video board. Piper wins the Karaoke Battle! Johnny makes the lame excuse that he lost only because he had a cold, so Piper tells Johnny to pick a suitable contest. In a huge flash of brilliance, Johnny decides that their next big competition will be a pie-eating contest. Given the large size of his stomach and pie-hole, it appears that Johnny will have an enormous, if not insurmountable, advantage when the pie-eating contest takes place next month.

13 Bad Boy" Jason and "Darling" Damon, "The Crown Jewels" (c.) vs. Ryan Bisbal and Don Vega, for the Tag Team Championship

Referee: Rich Bass. However, only Vega shows up for the match. Because of his leg injury in the final Tag Team Classic match earlier in the evening, Bisbal is unable to compete. The match ends up being a handicap tag team match, with Vega getting beaten up due to the Crown Jewels' two-on-one advantage. It is looking pretty bad for Vega, when Bisbal comes limping into the hall, assisted by Ivy. With Bisbal joining the match, the tide turns and it appears that Bisbal and Vega will win. However, Damon picks up Ivy and starts carrying her offstage, distracting Bisbal who goes to intervene. In the ensuing confusion, Jason pins Vega and the Crown Jewels retain the Tag Team Championship.
