    Month 11- One Year!!

My first year loced is almost over. I love my hair and can't believe all the changes that we've gone through together. In the earlier days times got hard, my hair was doing things I couldn't prepare for, but I thank all the ladies at Nappturality.com because they were there for me and supported me when I didn't know what to do. Those days seem so far away now and lasted only a few months. It was well worth it, because the freedom I have to wash or rinse whenever I want is great. It never takes me longer than 5 minutes to do my hair and it looks great everytime! This year has made me realize that Locing IS NOT for everyone. Only the strong survive and the weak fall by the way side. The ones that want that "quick fix" or the locs down their back in a week--NEED NOT APPLY. Locs require patience, and if you don't have it, don't try it. Stick to being a loose nappy cause you will only frustrate and bother the hell out of us who told you you needed it in the first place. What, did you think you were special and that your hair was gonna loc and be down your back in a month?? Did you not think we were talking to you when we said all locs are different? And don't think your locs are gonna look like anyone elses, you will be sadly mistaken in the end...if you get that far. O well, moving on...

My locs and I step into year 2 knowing that things will only get better for us. My routine has gotten simpler washing once a week, rinsing 3-4 times a week. I spritz with my oil and water mixture daily sometimes twice a day. I brush my locs daily with a 100% Boar bristle brush, and that's it! I am not twisting anymore for now--semifreeforming or whatever ya'll wanna call it. But I don't plan to retwist until the first of the year allowing my roots to thicken as much as possible.

Again, thank you to those that supported me during the first year. And those who gave me advice and helped me cut down when I was doing too much with my locs. Now, I just Keep it Simple...and I'm Lovin' It!!
