Flakes and points found on Ile des Allumettes
A friend's family cottage was on Ile des Allumettes and we spent a number of Labour Day weekends there. The beach was used by the Native people as both a spot for resting up on the annual migrations up and down the Ottawa River and also as a hunting base. As a result, you find shards and points for arrows and spearpoints, as well as other small tools. This is my small collection.
On the left are 8 shards (although I think in looking at it, the white one on the right side of that group is the broken tip of a point). On the right are a small arrowhead, a small shard of pottery, a large point of some kind and two small scrapers.
