| | DON'T | - micro natural braids
-
-
it took 3days to complete. but that is because i only had the evening to myself to do my hair. i love them.
i'll be keeping them in for ass long as i can lol! i'll dc every week co-wash every other day moisturize and seal every day
**** i've taken down the micro braids down. actually i converted each braid into a twist. (its sooo much easier transitioning from style to style) it took 2days in all: around 3-4hrs the 1st day, and 6hrs the next day. the take down was pretty easy, (i used a hair pin) i expected more shed hair, i was extremely surprised and impressed at the effects of taking garlic supplements.****
i forgot how thick my hair was, the diff between braids and twists in night and day lol! co-wash every other day moisturize and seal every day

| | DON'T | - Kinky twist, done by yours truly! .......and how i rock it!!!
-
-
took me around 12hours between 2days. i wanted something full, cus i kept seeing very scalp-y kinky twists and was like hell no! lol!!
i wish my hair was naturally this full and big ahhhh one can dream right?
i'll be keeping them in for 2months.
i moisturize everyday almost to the point of saturation: *alternating* moisture (water, S-curl, rosewater, glycerin) and protein (water, infusium 23(original), rosewater, glycerin). i seal with: coconut oil or EVOO. mostly coconut oil co-wash 2x week after workout. shampoo once a week: *very* diluted ORS creamy aloe (to scalp only, i apply with a spray bottle and massage my scalp) DC every week, (moisture, protein, moisture.....) massage my scalp with a little coconut oil on my fingertips every night (after moisturizing of course) i baggy 2-3 a week. *on days i'm outside the whole day* dream right?

| | DON'T | - Hide your hair challenge
-
-
joined a BHM challenge! i will not show my true hair length! meaning no straight styles!
i hear that aloe stimulates growth. (Google "Aloe Vera research hair growth") Aloe Vera is known to balance out the PH and stimulate the production of enzymes on your scalp which helps stimulate hair growth.
how cool is that lol! i'm going to give it a try, and do an experiment :)
i will be making a fresh batch of aloe vera juice every 10days (it lasts 10-12days in the fridge before it starts to ferment!) and apply it to my scalp and massage it in every night. *i will keep it at room temp for about an hour before i use it, cus, if its cold my pores would just close up and it would not get absorbed*
as usual: moisturize and seal every morning (Shea butter) and night (EVOO), **UPDATE!!! i have noticed that my hair stays moisturized longer, which is a plus! so i now moisturize and seal once a day. alternating between Shea butter and EVOO** baggy 5-6 days a week (its DRY and HOT here in Senegal) i'll co-wash 2xweek or more when needed. DC every week, alternating between protein and moisture. henna every 4 weeks i'll do this till end of the challenge.
update: i trimmed my ends! i do it twice a year, but this time it was purely for esthetically "pleasing" reasons lol i love the way my curls look after a cut. nice an crisp! balance out the PH and stimulate the production of enzymes on your scalp which helps stimulate hair growth.

| | DON'T | - MY BIG A$$ AFRO
-
-
i like to tame my beautiful fro, by making it a curly fro and pinning it back with bobby pins. my mum taught me how she made her fro sooo bad ass back in the day. LOL!
basically 2 strand twist, roll (like your going to pin curl, but tighter...so instead of curling round finger, curl it around itself) then tuck into the base. fluff out in the morning. *the more/smaller you do, the more curly your fro will be*
to maintain, redo at night. *remember to use your satin/silk scarfs/caps* (like your going to pin curl, but tighter...so instead of curling round finger, curl it around itself) then tuck into the base. fluff out in the morning. *the more/smaller you do, the more curly your fro will be*

| | DON'T | - Bantu knots
-
-
OK, after getting tips from wildfire and purpulicious, i decided to Bantu knot my twists. unraveled the knots the next day, for a Bantu knot out, on twists. THANKS WILDFIRE AND PURPULICIOUS!!!
UPDATE!!!
the best way for me to do successful BKO on loose hair, it to 1st twist, 2nd bantu knot each twist, 3rd spray diluted lotta body on each knot and last lastly unravel once completely dry!
it last a week, and i "nourish" my hair each day with wheat germ oil.
to detangle, i finger comb with conditioner, section by section, then wash my hair in large braids. PURPULICIOUS!!!
