A list of products that I am currently using.

A recovering PJ (Product Junkie), I am pleased to announce that the products that I am currently using are few in number.

-----------------------------
7/21/06 - The Product Junkie strikes again! Let me tell you who is to blame: Shatani and Redhotlala. Between Shatani's beautiful natural hair and Red's amazing length, I felt trapped...there was nothing I could do but...GO SHOPPING!

The honey hemp was my favorite condtioner of all time. Do you experience a lot of shrinkage with her products, because some are heavily water based? I really wanted to try their chapstick too, do you like it?

The sample pack is 1/2 this size?
    ------------------
You might want to check the website www.oyinhandmade.com for more info. I have been back to her website since I initially started bying her products a few years ago, and things have changed. Jamyla is still great though - and her company is growing! Props to a sis who is doin' her thang!

    I love this stuff

Girl, I just ordered some more yesterday. She's got some new products too. I'm going to try the new whipped shea butter, non-scented. The girl is a GENIUS!

I am waiting on my Oyin order to come in, but in the mean time my hair is starting to like Asha's Mane Attraction. I have so much to learn about my tresses. It is a fun and at times expensive journey!
    ----
You're so right...this journey can be very expensive. I have settled on Oyin's line and 100% Shea Butter for the past few months and my hair has responded very well. I may try Asha's line in the future, but right now I have enough of Oyin's products to last me for quite a while.

HELLO. I JUST GOT MY SAMPLE PACK. I LOVE THE CONSISTENCY OF THE PRODUCTS. HOWEVER MY HAIR FEELS SO DRY. ANY TIPS?
    ------
    I sure do!

First, I have used the products the products on both dry and wet/damp hair. The results are overwhelmingly better on damp hair. I begin with the Oyin Poo Bar (shampoo), follow with the Hemp conditioner which I leave on under a shower cap for several minutes. When I rinse this out my hair feels moisturized and very soft. The shampoo does a great job of cleansing my hair without stripping it.

Note: You may also want to consider trying the No Poo method, which means cleansing the hair with conditioner, rather than shampoo.

At any rate, the next step would be to spray the hair with Greg juice, if you want. It is a very nice detangler, ESPECIALLY when doubled with Whipped Pudding. Sometimes, Greg Juice does not seem to be enough when used alone on my hair, however it helps the Whipped Pudding to spread on easier so that I do not have to use so much of it. Since you are challenged with dryness, I would suggest learning how your hair responds to these basic products before trying to use the Shine and Define product. It is important to understand how your hair responds to different products before adding others.

So, the next thing to do is to style the hair. I very rarely go through all of this just to let my hair dry in its free afro state. It would be dry as corn shucks (that's a country term) and would be impossible to comb. So, put the hair up in some sort of protective style and take it down after it dries, if you want. If you are going to wear your hair up, go ahead and style it. If your hair begins to dry, redampen it with water and Greg Juice before applying the styling products. Applying styling and moisturizing products (i.e., Whipped Pudding, and Shine and Define) on dry hair will not allow the products to maximize their affects on your hair.

Well, I really hope this helps! If you have any other questions, just let me know and I will do my very very best to help you.
