| | | | | | | - road to ica
After returning from our hike to Macchu Piccu and flying back to Lima we rented a car (from a very cool gentleman who even gave us an excellent guidebook which proved to be rather useful) and drove down to Nazca through Ica and Paracas. we were warned about the hectic driving and lack of rules and many other things, but it all turned out perfectly fine. we got lost once when the highway turned into a one way street in the middle of some god forsaken town. we quickly recovered and were on our way. p.s. the only confusing thing we encountered is the weird shacks in the middle of the desert. couldn't figure out what these were and why. down to Nazca through Ica and Paracas.

we stoped by the place for two reasons. it was in that cool book the guide gave us, it was on our way and we were hungry. ok that's 3. Paracas is the only maritime national reserve in Peru with absolutely beautiful scenery, small ports, little islands and a couple of resorts... the book said Paracas hotel had one of the best restaurants on the coastline and it was somewhat right: it wasn't that bad. It was a bit disappointing that we ddn't have more time I would have loved to go to one of those little islands and watch sea lions and such... but it wasn't meant to be. absolutely beautiful scenery, small ports, little islands and a couple of resorts... the book said Paracas hotel had one of the best restaurants on the coastline and it was somewhat right: it wasn't that bad.
