Caralluma
Γένος που περιλαμβάνει πάνω από 60 είδη, υποείδη και ποικιλίες.
Κατάγονται κυρίως από την Ασία και την Αφρική αλλα συναντάμε κάποια είδη και σε άλλες περιοχές όπως την Caralluma europaea στην Ιταλία και Ισπανία και την Caralluma burchardii στους Καναρίους νήσους.
Πολλά είδη του γένους χρησιμοποιούνται στην Ιατρική.
Πολλαπλασιάζονται με σπόρους και μοσχεύματα.

Πολλαπλασιάζονται με σπόρους και για την γονιμοποίηση των λουλουδιών χρειάζονται δυο φυτά ( αρσενικό και θηλυκό).
Οι κόνδυλοι των φυτών του γένους τρώγονται από τους ιθαγενείς της Αφρικής.
Το caudex, σε φυτά που βάζει κάποιος από σπόρο, μεγαλώνει πιο γρήγορα αν είναι όλο καλυμμένο με χώμα.

-The genus Frerea is a monotypic genus, with only one species Frerea indica.
-The genus Frerea named in honour of Edward Frere, a prominent scientific researcher in India.
-Frerea indica first discovered in 1864 by Nicol Alexander Dalzell who created a new genus for it.

Γένος από την οικογένεια Apocynaceae και την υποοικογένεια Asclepiadaceae που περιλαμβάνει μονο ένα είδος την Frerea indica.
Το γένος ονομάστηκε Frerea προς τιμή του ερευνητή Edward Frere.
Η Frerea indica ανακαλύφθηκε και καταγραφικε από τον Nicol Alexander Dalzell το 1864.
Συνώνυμο της είναι το Caralluma frerei.
Πολλαπλασιάζεται με σπόρους και μοσχεύματα.

Γένος φυτών από την οικογένεια Apocynaceae (υποοικογένεια Asclepiadoideae) που περιλαμβάνει περίπου 400 είδη από την Ασία, την Ινδία, την Κίνα, την Αυστραλία και την Πολυνησία, από τα οποία όμως μόνο από 90 έως 300 είδη αναγνωρίζονται.
Τα λουλούδια του γένους είναι αρωματικά.
Πολλαπλασιάζονται με σπόρους και μοσχεύματα βλαστών και φύλλων τα οποία ριζώνουν πολύ εύκολα.
Στην καλλιέργεια χρειάζονται μικρή γλάστρα, καθόλου μεταφυτεύσεις, φωτεινές περιοχές και όχι άμεση επαφή με τον ήλιο.
Το γένος Hoya ονομάστηκε από τον βοτανολόγο Robert Brown με το όνομα του φίλου του βοτανολόγου Thomas Hoy.

Το παλιό ανθοφόρο στέλεχος δεν το κόβουμε ποτέ, το φυτό ανθίζει πάλι από εκεί.
