Mount Panorama Resort Open Day

http://www.mountpanoramaresort.com.au/index.html

The Mount Panorama Scenic Drive was built by Bathurst City Council in 1938 to stage the Australian Grand Prix and over the next 60 years the circuit has developed to become world famous as one of the last great “road circuits”.

Bathurst City Council has allowed the special release of land for this project, but unlike Gold Coast, this will not be the start of a massive over-development, this is a once off opportunity.

There are a range of apartments available in this $50 million development to suit all tastes and budgets. Construction will coincide with work to upgrade the Mount Panorama pits – a project backed by $26 million funding from local, state and federal government.

Starting at $275,000 for one bedroom “Trackside” apartments with 10 metre square balcony, the apartments vary in size and layout up to the spectacular million dollar two-storey “Penthouse”. The luxury Penthouse apartments also include a double lock-up garage.

Other units include the:

“Mountain View” – One bedroom 50 metre square apartments with a 10 metre square balcony which has spectacular views of Mount Panorama.

“Panorama” – Slightly larger corner one bedroom apartments that are 55 metre square and feature a 11 metre square balcony.

“Chase” and “Conrod” – from 112 metre square these have three bedrooms and are the biggest apartments on offer. They have high quality finishes throughout and includes 25 metre square balcony, ideal for entertaining on race day while looking right down Conrod Straight.

The resort rental pool will be managed when you decide to let your apartment. You will be required to purchase a furniture package which includes: 40” LCD TV, lounge suite, beds, fridge, curtains and other kitchen items for your investment property. This will ensure the 5 star luxury status of the hotel is maintained at all times.

Police put hooligans on notice
July 18, 2007 08:50am
Article from:
FIVE hundred police will descend on Mt Panorama this year, using sniffer dogs and vehicle searches to combat gangs of drunken arsonists and hooligans at the Bathurst 1000 race.
The deployment - Operation Baraba - is expected to be one of the biggest shows of police force at the race, at which hundreds of people have been hurt in previous years amid revelry by louts on the area known as "the hill".
It is understood the NSW Police Force's recently purchased water cannon - undergoing a final fit-out for the APEC conference in September - will also be on hand to hose down any riots.
A massive police training exercise for the race is to take place at Mt Panorama on August 1, with police this week conducting a letter drop to local residents to alert them it will involve pyrotechnics and low-flying aircraft.
The operation will test the response capability of hundreds of Operational Support Group officers in the lead-up to the race, which is expected to attract about 200,000 racegoers from across Australia and overseas when it is held from October 4-7.
Assistant Police Commissioner Garry Dobson said the famous event had been marred in previous years by "absolutely horrendous behaviour" by a small but diehard element.
"The (incidents) have ranged from detonation of explosives to arson attacks to ridiculous behaviour with motor vehicles," he said.
Louts pouring oil on roads and being towed along by cars doing "doughnuts" have posted their footage on the website YouTube.
Ambulance officers, in particular, have voiced concerns about the dangers of the area.
"All emergency services have expressed concerns about the behaviour there," Mr Dobson said.
Bathurst visitors will meet a big traffic operation 100km from town to coincide with the school holidays Operation Slowdown and a large police presence in Bathurst's city centre before the event.
Mr Dobson said three entrances would be staffed by police with sniffer dogs capable of detecting explosives, firearms and drugs.
Police would conduct vehicle searches and anyone with illegal items would be arrested.
