I live in The Pas, Manitoba Canada. As I write this e-mail, a unit of yours is here in The Pas. I spoke to one of the attendants, workers about the unit no. 275. He said your com inspect rail roads. I Asked him if this unit was economical in fuel consumption, he said from Calgary to The Pas it was 250 gallons. I am working for a isolated band at Pukatawagan, they along with a few other keewatin bands are purchasing a portion of the short line railroad that runs from Cranberry Portage to Lynn Lake manitoba. Why am I interested in this unit. I am involved in setting up a sawmill for the community of 3,000 people. The three to four million cubic meters of wood is located 25 miles south of the community but has a spur and is along the track. It would be far cheaper to locate the sawmill neart the wood supply and use a unit such as yours for transporting people. This unit could also pul one car and go on to Cranberry haul passengers then back on a daily basis. We would simply set-up a work schedule for the workers fours day on and four day off. We would need a shuttle bus that could go up and down the track daily. Any ideas? We would be dealing with a saving of near two million dollars annually by locating near the wood supply, a large locomotive is far too expensive too operate to simply haul 35.00 ticket passengers, a unit like yours would be ideal.
