Delaware & Ulster ALCO S-4 #5106

Ex Chesapeake & Ohio
Number 5106 was in regular service just before D&U acquired it. Both locomotives, 5106 and 1012, were built for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway, now a part of the CSX system. 5106, was built in 1953 and 1012, originally numbered the 10012, was built in 1954. #5106 received additional weight to bring it up to 123 ton for use in heavy plant switching; #1012, a General Motors product,. was used to switch Ford's River Rouge plant!. These locomotives back ups for #5017.
