10/3//2007 - Word was received today that we did not receive an award. It was a good effort anyway and we are proud of our new library building.

The Junior Friends of the Southbury Library, average age, about 12, were having a read-in when I interrupted for these pictures. One of their other activities has been to raise money for some of the equipment in the Young Adult Department of the new library. These pictures are in recognition of their efforts.

This painting was dedicated on Saturday, may 23, 2008. I have shown the whole painting and its major details. Also, I have included pictures of three of the actual monuments used in the painting.

The Southbury Business Association (SBA)was a major fund raiser for the new Southbury Public Library and is a continuing supporter. On Wednesday, September 20, 2006, they held their monthly meeting at the library in order to give the members a closer look at the finished product. These are some pictures from that meeting.

The South Britain Public Library was the original public library in Southbury. It still houses a small collection of books and is open about two hours a week, on Wednesdays.

At the request of the Building Committee, both color and black-and-white pictures were made. The are separate exposurs. The B&W versions are not conversions from color.
