Bronze Copper

I really enjoy the colorful Bronze Copper butterflies. They are very small, comparable to the size of a nickel. Due to their size they are easily overlooked in the field and many people have never seen one in detail.

Northern Crescent

These are small butterflies maybe a bit smaller than a quarter. Easily overlooked due to size, they really have a beautiful pattern on their wings.

Sphinx Moths

Sphinx Moths are easily confused by many people with hummingbirds and are also commonly called Hummingbird Moths due to their flight. Their wings are in constant motion even when feeding from flowers. The White-Lined Sphinx Moths range from 2.5 to 3.5 inches in size. With the constant wing motion it's difficult to see the details of these moths so the photos were taken with a fast shutter speed. The last four photos were taken at a slower shutter speed which is closer to what your eye would see when spotting them in the field.
