The Baltic Chain Run 2009 wasinitiated by the citizens, an idea from the motorcyclists to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Baltic Chain on 22nd of August with a collective ride and to support the proposal of the European Parliament.
On 22nd of August at 9 a.m. the motorcyclists gathered together in Tallinn and in Vilnius.
At 10 a.m. representatives of different Estonian, Lithuanian and Latvian bike clubs started the run. Latvian motorcyclists joined them at border checkpoints and the run will be continued together to Sigulda in Latvia.
A big meeting place was prepared at the joining point in Sigulda: a tent camp, guarded bike parking, catering, and a concert area including everything else necessary for holding the event.
The Baltic Chain Run 2009 finished with an outstanding rock concert where artists from all three countries performed. The flags of the three countries were pulled up on stage and a joined singing took place.
