Since 2000 I have been taking pictures of students doing interesting things. I take the pictures and post them for people to see and to download. I have done this as a volunteer—I am not compensated in any way, shape, or form, directly or indirectly for the pictures, for downloads, or for prints.

I was asked to volunteer to take pictures for the Hanover High School Holiday Dance. This assignment is a little bit different: the organizers had some money they wanted to pay. I didn’t want to change my volunteers status, so this is what I suggested: they could donate what they had set aside for a photographer to the Childrens Hospital at Dartmouth. Our 30-year-old daughter, Joanna Grossman Miller, was treated at CHaD for a serious condition. She has participated in all five of the CHaD Half Marathons, and has been a top fundraiser each year. The funds will be donated in support of her for next year’s half marathon.

Joanna works as an administrator at Harvard University and she drove up after work the night of the dance to help me wrangle the little darlings into cute poses for their pictures.

Because I am not compensated in any way, shape, or form for this volunteer activity I only get feedback if it is sent to me. I take all these picture for one reason: it pleases me to do so. I take these pictures as a volunteer. It is fun (and encouraging) for me to hear comments about the pictures.

These pictures are TOTALLY FREE. They can be downloaded for free from this site, or prints can be purchased for a few cents from Fotki. I don't receive compensation, in any form, for these photographs. I don't sell these pictures, and I don't receive any part of what is paid for prints. The pictures are printed by the Fotki service, and Fotki keeps 100% of what you pay.
