The Community Weekend Workshop series happens on the last weekend of each month. All workshops are open and free to the general public. Topics are centered around issues that pertain to environmental health, well-being, social justice, and advocacy. The Community Weekend Workshop series has been generously funded by Citizens Committee for NYC.

Pratt visits Rockaway.

Artist Ethan Long constructed a public earth art piece and lead workshops with PS43 on his art work and the symbolic representation. The dirt sculpture was the first public art piece to ever be presented in Rockaway! The art piece made its opening debut at Earth Day Rockaway 2009.

Funding for the piece was generously provided by the Queens Council on the Arts.

Students learn about renewable energy and how energy can be harvested and used sustainably.

Students working to create healthy organic foods while learning about the health and environmental benefits. The students also explored new, innovative ways to cook food.

Students learn about plant life and how to become successful gardeners in their community.

Students learn important water safety information and techniques for solving problems if in danger.
