    Hello, Reniece
I wanted to know where I can get the applicator bottle. Can I get it at Wal-mart? I also wanted to know what hair oil do you use. Is doo grow hair oil a good one to use? Is braiding my hair and wearing a wig the same type of method? I also wanted to know about the hair vitamins, what vitamins do you use, and where can I find them. I just want to thank you for this information. You didnt have to take time out and post this information, but you did to help others, and I really apprecaite you for that.
    Thank you,
    Destinee

when u go to the store and u are looking for the spray bottle w/ tha applicator... what is the proper name for it?
    ***********************************************************
It's called a "color applicator bottle".

Hi.. I wear 3 tracks in my hair.. and my sides are out.. how would i moisturize the braided part of my hair where its sewn in? what product would I use? Love your hair by the way. xoxo, trini

You can purchase an applicator bottle w/ a pointy tip and fill it with ORS's Olive Oil Lotion, or Fantasia's Oil Moisturizer. Then squirt it into the braided part of your hair. Make sure you rub it in and evenly distribute it as much as possible. There are other moisturizers out there, but those two are my favorite for now.

Thank you for your response. I was asking if you wore straight or wavy hair. I'd probably have a hard time getting to stay looking good once I washed it. If you wore straight hair, how did you keep it looking good until you took it out?And when you washed, did you use the diluted shampoo in a color bottle or just use your hands to wash? Thanks again for your responses.

You're welcome. I wore straight weaves most of the time. I conditioned the weave hair VERY well. I also used Paul Mitchell Gloss Drops at the time while blow-drying. It kept the hair nice and detangled. Shampoo the hair in the shower so that you can keep it in a straight form - it minimizes the tangling. Yes, I recommend that you use diluted shampoo in an applicator bottle. Shake it up until it's sudsy, then squirt it onto the weave hair and braids.

Hi again, can you tell me what kind of weave you wore please? I want to get a sew-in when I take my braids out and I want to be able to wash my hair as well. Also, did you use the oil/moisturizer between the braids (like grease your scalp) or did you put it on the braids itself (like if you used an applicator bottle).
Last question, do you mainly trim to keep your ends even and blunt to keep it thick? Sorry for all the questions.
    **********************************************************
    Hi,
Please clarify what you mean by what "type" of weave I wore. All of my hair was braided except for the top part. Most of the time I put the oil on my braids (using an applicator bottle). I used so much that it would seep to my scalp regardless. Yes, I mainly blunt cut my ends to keep my ends from being thin-looking.

    Hi Renice,

What do you mean diluted? Should I buy a new shampoo? or can I use my Apohgee shampoo. Sorry to bother you!
    **********************************************************
You can keep the same shampoo. Just pour some shampoo into an applicator bottle, then add plenty of water, then shake it up. This will prevent heavy product buildup in between the braids (since it's more difficult to rinse the hair with a weave on top)

    I don't mind the questions :)

Oh I forgot to ask you, how do you wash, dry, and condition your hair under a weave and how do you keep it looking good? How often did you redo your weave?
    *************************************************
I shampoo under the shower with diluted shampoo and conditioner. I would sit under a hooded dryer afterwards. I redid my weaves every 4 weeks.

  • Zipporah (Private Message) 09/22/04 9:54 AM

I was wondering how did you wash your hair if you have a sew in weave? What do you put on your hair to make it so shiny? My hair always look so dry any advice?
    *******************************************************
I shampooed very lightly under in the shower. I made sure that the hair didn't get tangled up. I use Vitapointe most of the time or I'll use Black n Sassy's Sassy Shine.

hi again also when you say that you replaced the tracks every 4 weeks, did that mean u took the tracks out and placed them back in or did u wash your hair and redo the braids then weaved it back in again. i hope this does not sound stupid? i just want to be sure you took it all down then redid the whole thing. was this a shop job every 4 weeks?
    *********************************
    Hi,

I was doing the WHOLE entire thing over. --Redoing the cornrows, thoroughly shampooing and conditioning my hair, and redoing the weave with fresh tracks. And yes, I always do my own weaves.

  • khivey (Private Message) 03/22/04 11:16 AM

Hey girl your hair got really thick. Did you add tracks? If not, then what is your regimen that improved the body of your hair b/c this is the thickness I want. :)
    ********************************************************
Thanks girl! No, there are no tracks added in any of these pictures (except for the blonde track for the ponytail and the 2 pictures at the end of the album). But I will be posting more pictures of the sew-ins that I've worn throughout the time that I've been growing out my hair. Wearing the sew-ins definitely improved the thickness of my hair because I maintained them on a regular basis.

Most of the time I would redo the tracks every 4 weeks. Then relax about every 6 months or so. Then let my hair rest for about a month before putting the tracks back in. I did a good job with keeping my ends trimmed.
