I was checking out your pictures and your hair looks great. I do have a question regarding weaves though. How is one able to wash the sew-in weaves and still maintain the style? Wouldn't it loosen the sew-in tracks? Is there a special way to wash the weave and most importantly the hair underneath?

Thank you. I find that it's easier to shampoo the weave while in the shower. Use an applicator bottle and mix the shampoo and a bit of water, then lift each track and squirt the shampoo underneath the weave. It will create an almost instant lather, then just massage your scalp in between the tracks. If tracks are secure, shampooing will not loosen them.

Absolutely beautiful hair!! To what do you attribute that great shine & thickness? Do you have a routine anywhere that talks about the products you use, the number of times you wash your hair per week, etc.? I'd love to see it! The color and shine are AMAZING!

Thank you. I mainly use Vitapointe for shinenbelieve it or not :) It gives my hair so much shine without all of the excess grease. My hair thickened out a bit over time while I wore sewn-in weaves. You can view the regimen that I used in the Journal section: http://journals.fotki.com/Reniece20/

The Premium Too by Sensationnel...so not a lot of tangling with that? What about shedding?

    **********

There's always some degree of shedding with weave hair, especially if it's sewn in. Shedding can be minimized if there is some type of adhesive on the track-that keeps the strands intact. Some brands have it, most don't.

    Ooh One mOre questiOn...

    1) what's a good namebranded straightner that that is effective for straightning weaves verry well?

You can use something like Redken Heat Glide.

your hair is beautiful. i have a couple of questions if u dOnt mind me askinq....

    1) what is a good namebranded moouse that can be applied to african-american hair which will qive it the "wet-styled" lOok?

    2) what namebrand weave is cheap but very good to use for sew in tracks?

thank you so much !! much <33

    ****************

    Thank you.

    1) I don't really use mousse. It makes my hair sticky and frizzy-looking. I think that you'd need a nice wave pattern for your hair to acheive the "wet" look after using mousse. I'm trying to remember the name of the mousse we used on micro braids while at the salon.....I can't think of it right now but I'll think about what it was and get back to you. You can use the mousse on wet-and-wavy weaves and it makes the weave hair look really nice.

    2) I don't know what price is cheap to you but a reasonably priced brand is Sensationnel. --But I only like a certain line of their hair - I don't like the others because of the tangly texture. It's called Premium Too by Sensationnel.
