Here we are at my two year mark. I have some celebrating to do and some confessing, yes confessing, I texturized my hair!!!!! I did, no not by myself, professionally of course. And guess what I LOVE it. Let me dive into the reasons why and then explain what was actually done.
WHY:
Eventhough Dickey showed me how to style my hair, this technique is very time consuming, and I used soooo much product. After spending a good hour applying this product and then drying another 40 minutes, my hair looked great but never lasted past 1 or two days, sometimes but very rarely did I see third day hair. This still hasn't changed with the exception that I spend less time styling, therefore re-wetting every other day is more feasible than spending two plus hours styling each a.m. or Saturday!
I was fighting with my hair and fighting my daughters hair, this again, time consuming for me and needless to say frustrating, she usually ends up wearing her hair in a pony!
School started back for me, no time for games and simplicity became my no. 1 priority. School also started for my five year old, so talk about stressed, it's beyond that! So I fixed what I could starting with my hair!
And, I really just decided I was going to do what was easier for me, since growing my hair was about me, then why not make this experience also about me. Not being selfish, but I have to do what's best for me!
Hope you enjoy!
Do I see myself as natural?
Technically I am not natural, but when I look at my curls, those were not "made" they existed and I stretched them out, just as I would "alter" my hair with color, but to keep it real, no I am not natural and I am fine with that, I'm me, my hair is my hair.
So with that come on in, I will tell you all about it and how it has changed my life postively!!! Texturizing may not be for you, do your research ( I did for a few months) and also learn your hair and what it can really do BEFORE you jump to chemicals, I love that I waited two years because I got to see "my real" hair!
