The finished product. I tied her hair with a scarf and put barretts on the ends, the book by Lorraine Massey suggests keeping the hair "anchored" in a downward position to prevent too much shrinkage. I'll remove the barretts in the a.m.

    Did you like that book? I read it and was not really impressed as to the section on African American hair. I am all for shampoo. I only wash my hair every 7 days with a no sulfate shampoo. I used the Oyin Poo bar. It works great for me and is gentle with no strips. Right now I am using the combo of the Elucence moisture shampoo and condish. I use a dime amount of the shampoo once and then rinse. I tried the conditioner wash but one month but it seemed something was missing, I guess as to I have been conditioned on the shampoo. But if it works for some then it is all good. It is about sharing and caring,.

    I will say that condition washing has saved so much hair from being broken off in the comb trying to detangle and has saved moisture, so I love the no-poo method!
