George Built this car while he was working with Harry Westergard in the early 40's

This was George his first custom car. He built it while he was still at school and work spare time for Harry Westergard.

George Barris built this custom for himself after he moved to LA. It was painted Royal Metallic Maroon which later would be one of the Barris trademark colors. The car was the only custom at the first SCTA Hot Rod show in '48 and was on the cover of the March '48 Road & Track. The car can be seen with diferent Caddy grilles and wheel/hubcap combinations.
