Donn Lowe worked his usual magic on this one; he completely restored the body before beginning the customizing process. He chopped the top 3-½ inches before filling it. He also filled the rumble lid ...more

and molded the rear fenders to the body and installed flush-fit skirts. While installing the ’38 Cadillac grille and shell, Lowe molded the front fenders to the shell, installed ’39 Chevy headlights and made louvered hood sides. Shaved handles, ribbed ’37 DeSoto bumpers and a flush fuel door round out the body mods. The entire body is metal-finished with minimal use of lead and absolutely zero plastic filler.
