1929 Model A Fords - 29sd64

rss

I have had a number of them during the last 50 years. It is my favorite year for Fords. The Cabriolet was purchased new in 1929 by my father. It was my first car and I got it in 1958 and had it running in 1962-63. The tudor sedan was built in 1963 and done in 1964 The body was found abandoned along side of the Klamath River Road, partially buried in mud. Just needed patch panels, not available then. ...so after a couple years the rusty body was tossed and the car was converted to a drag roadster (A/SR) in 1968. ...into a street roadster in 1971, and finally into a closed cab pickup in 1993 for my daughter while in HS. It has not been modified since; but will likely get a crate 350 motor soon. I am still working on the cabriolet, slowly but surely. The constant urge I have to build '29 Fords never dies. I may have to build a hemi powered 'hiboy' coupe after I finish the Cabriolet.

This shot shows some poor body and paint repair work I did on the right side behind the door. I did not know what I was doing to properly thin lacquer. It was drying on me before it got from the gun to the body, more than a bit grainy!
