Food City Big Cart

Completely scratchbuilt from Evergreen rod and tube, engine, axles, beer keg, wheels and tires from my parts box. Have taken dozens of photos of this rod at the Bristol Motor Speedway and the accompanying Food City Family Night in downtown Bristol, Tennessee. Seeing this machine circling the 36 degree banks of Bristol Motor Speedway during pre-race activities is unreal! The real thing was built by the National Cart Company in Missouri, manufacturer of normal shopping carts, and is a fixture at Bristol's Food City sponsored events.

The Munster Coach

Mildly detailed build up of AMT's re-issued Munster Coach Kit. I built this and the Dragula when it was released the first time. Still have those built ups, but time has not been good to them. So I have built another version with improved skills. The Dragula is on my list of kits to be built.

Bad Medicine 2005

Another re-build of a kit I built as a kid. This time I took the Tom Daniels design and refined it a bit, lowered the stance, narrowed the front end, set the engine back (this took some legroom from the driver, forcing him to bend his knees) and chopped the top. Paint is the new Testors Lacquer System Panther Pink and Black with clearcoat. Very nice paint for a rattle can. What is left of my original build can be seen for comparison in some pictures.

Project 1921 Oldsmobile "Underslung" Roadster

Underslung style street rod built using as many parts from the AMT Beverly Hillbillies truck kit as possible. Wheels were donated by a club member from a Bugatti, as were the rear tires. The Hillbillies truck frame was flipped upside down, and kit suspension and driveline parts were installed over the frame. Paints used were left over from other projects, Testors White Lightning on the frame and Go Mango on the body. Scratchbuilt suspension components and Pro-Tech braided lines and photo etched nuts and bolts completed this low buck project.
