I know I'm way late. Like 3 years late. Haha. I just joined about 2 days ago and came across your profile, but a) I agree! Why did you ever go back?! I am striving so hard for this look! Beautiful! And b) How did you get it this way after a wash and go while transitioning? I'm 5 months into my transition now and my relaxed hair is just straight and frizzy if I let it air dry without doing a thing to it and only the new growth does this. Oh the frustration.
You were testing out the natural look here. Wild and free! _______________________________________ This was my first attempt at transitioning. Can't recall how many months post I was in this shot. But I surely loved the fullness of my hair here. I've lost so much hair this time around that my hair never looks this full now. Sure hope it grows back full and healthy.
very pretty...i remember this look when i was transitioning. It was the easiest and quickest style to do. I used to have to braid it and put the very small rollers in though. ______________________________________ I used to rock wash-n-gos like nobody's business during my first transition. I had to stop them once winter hit though I couldn't walk out the house with wet hair.
it's coming along nicely ___________________________________ Thanks Natural Virgo. It surely was until I put a perm back in my hair. What ever possessed me?
look at those curls _______________________________________ Thanks Natural Virgo. But this doesn't even begin to compare to your beautiful curls. I still had a lot of relaxer left in my hair here.
Yeah, CO-washes are the best. There's a section dedicated to it in the book, "Curly Girl." Motowngirl.com showcases it on her site, too. It really works for me out here in the desert, too. ___________________ Yep I agree. I've come to love co-washes.
yea, that's what i had been hearing all my life, but my scalp was itching!! haha! so i heard from one of my roommates in college who had long curly hair that she washes her hair with conditioner every few days. now, she was latina, so i was thinking this wasn't going to work for me. but she had small-ish curls (probably a 3b) of a similar texture to mine, so i gave it a try...and OMG! it's amazing! i can't believe i had been misinformed for so long! my hair felt clean and healthy and moisturized from all the water. sorry for the long post, haha =) but the point of my story is to try conditioner washes. they help me out A LOT! ________________________________ Thanks. I really appreciate the advice I'll try that and let you know how it comes out.
Your hair is beautiful! Can't wait to see it once you BC! Good luck on your napptural journey! ___________________________________________ Thank you for the nice comment. Thanks for the well wishes I'll definitely need the luck.
i've heard that too. but you know what...my hair LOVES water, i wash, or at least wet my hair pretty often and my hair loves it. Some people say "black hair", but i've learned that even in THAT category, there is still so much variety among each head...it pretty much depends on the individual. you could try no-pooing between washes, that way, you get that fresh look without the harsh effects of shampoo. _______________ Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try the no-poo method..
