DingHu is a small town surrounded by mountains and bamboo forests between ShiZhuo and Alishan. It's quite popular for hiking (DaDongShan) and camping.

This is the most common way to get there with your own transport.

LiJia is a remote Tsou aboriginal village surrounded by mountains and bisected by a river. Turn into the 169 from ShiZhuo.

Continue on route 18 at the entrance to Alishan national park to get to Tataka (TaTaJia)

Route 159jia is a quieter way to get to Alishan, passing by Bantianyan, Fanlu and Shizhuo

Went to KZL to meet Cheng-hung and family, ate a cricket at Liujia, then continued to Alishan. Stayed overnight at Shrjhuo and continued to Tataka in the morning.

One of only three train routes that run across mountains in the world, this train goes up the mountain via a series of switchbacks.
