Kevin McLeod's 350ci S-10 Blazer

Kevin built this truck wih his dad, who sadly passed away fairly recently. It's only fitting that he strip off the terrible "cheapo" paint job that was on the truck and lay down some nice new shiny stuff.

The amount of prep work needed on this truck was ridiculous, and Kevin was on a budget. He tore her down, helped prep, and he's reassembling to save some money. In the meantime we shaved the roof rack and repaired a lot of cancer in the roof as well. After hours and hours of block sanding, the truck was coated with 2 coats DuPont Chromabase GM Pastel Blue over DuPont sealer, and topped with 3 coats DuPont Chromaclear. The truck will have no trim, and will sport contrasting gray wheels and bumpers for a pro-street look to match it's V-8 powerplant.

stuff.

50 Chevy Project

This Chevy was brought to Parrott's with the Cadillac fenders already on, hood welded, and roof chopped. Since then the Parrott's crew had the car media blasted to look for trouble areas, then started over almost from scratch on the bodywork. This turned out to be a good thing, as there were some areas that would have come back to haunt us.

The beautiful DeSoto grille was fabbed into place by Parrott's, and the upside-down front Kaiser bumper is a perfect touch that could only be dreamt up by a late-night planning session involving the Birdman (Jerry Parrott) himself. Plans are to two-tone the car using a satin-finish pearl white color on the roof and dash top, with a dark color or rich gold on the lower sections.

The car will be lowered about 8" in the rear and 6" in the front to make for a nice rear rake (taildragger). You can see the projected stance in the pictures of the car without the wheels. This gave the owner an idea of just how low he wants to go. Recently work begun on the trunk floor and C-notch sections to allow the car to be slammed without the rear end hitting the frame.

The owner has also decided to scrap the orignal plan for a straight-six and vintage feel, and instead Parrott's will be lowering a 283 mill into the bay. A complete Mustang II front end arrived last week, now it's time to get to work!!

Stay tuned to this project, as the frame will soon be C-notched and a new motor goes in.

34 Lincoln Victoria

What would you do if you really wanted a 34 Ford Coupe but you and your wife were over 6' tall? Well, you wouldn't fit in one, that's for sure... and if you could find one, if you were smart (and had the luck to find as well as the money to buy one) you'd pick up a Lincoln Victoria of the same year! Tom Jerlow did just that, and he promptly brought the ultra-rare car to Parrott's Hot Rods for paint and body work.

It's amazing how Ford-like the body on this car is. Obviously, it's a Ford product, but the car is SO HUGE compared to the Ford! Despite the size difference, the car's character lines and shape are nearly identical, and that's a good thing.

Tom Jerlow found this car in a trade publication as a running and complete V12 car, bought it, and promptly ripped it apart. In the V12's place went a 454. The interior is getting modern touches, and the exterior will see things such as filled spare wheel holes (in the front fenders), shaved firewall, and base/clear Black Cherry paint.

This is a very rare car (about 150 ever made, only six known to exsist today) and although some might whine about the resto-mod route Tom is taking, there's no denying it will be one-of-a-kind when completed in 2008.

The 53 Chop

When a customer comes in to Parrott's Hot Rods and Kustoms and tells Jerry Parrott that he wants to "chop a 53 Chevy so low that is pisses the old guys off", this happens.

Jerry has the magic eye when it comes to cutting things up and moving them around. Lines and radius' still seem to flow like they came from the factory, and in many cases it's hard to tell exactly where changes were made. Such is the case with this 6" chop - despite the extreme looks of the roof, most people don't catch on to the slanted B-pillars and craftsmanship that went into retaining the upright rear window opening (most radical chops end up with a layed-down rear glass, which this customer did not want). The front lamps were tunnelled, 54 rear lamps were modified and fitted, and much of the trim was shaved along with the grille teeth to keep things sinister looking.

Parrotts and Spraywerkz worked together on this car throughout the welding, hammering, and filling process before we sprayed the Satin Black topcoats.

More pictures will come soon - once the glass is intstalled, one final session of fresh Satin Black will be sprayed.

Project '55

You're looking at the result of 5 years' worth of hard work involving three different shops. This '55 Chevy has an incredible build sheet, and was a complete off-frame resto-mod. The mechanical work was done by Reno Rod and Customs here in OKC, and the electrical, metal and frame work was performed by Spraywerkz sister shop Parrott's Hot Rods and Kustoms. Once the body was lowered back onto the freshly-smoothed and painted frame, we performed the extensive bodywork and Lexus pearl white. Jerry Parrott sprayed most of the Jet black paint.

A fully-built 502 Ram Jet sits beneath the welded and peaked hood, complete with a trick custom intake system that runs through the radiator core support. The engine bay is completely shaved and smoothed as well. Exhaust flows through a custom system which utilizes electric dumps. The whole thing can be sat 1/4" off the ground thanks to an Air Ride Technologies system, which is nestled in the smoothed, pearled trunk.

There's much, much more to this car than what's been touched on here, but the pics do much of the talking. The car delivered only days ago, but years worth of build pics will be posted soon...

As a gift to his father, Sam decided to "overhaul" his well-running, but run-down, GMC Caballero.
