Last Relaxer (3-31-09!)

These pictures are examples of what I looked like fresh after a creamy crack! Makes it easy to see why so many of us are tempted by it.

Made for a beautiful outcome, but still wasn't the real ME!

Going Natural

I decided to go natural after reading up on different hair sites like LHCF about stretching relaxers in order to grow my hair and make it thicker, but after all the learning, I saw that the best way to make my hair healthier was to GO NATURAL!

A few hours before one of my final exams I decided to go natural :) May 11, 2009!

So here I am at 2 months post and these are the styles I'm using thus far!

Transitioning-Cornrows/Braidouts
Jun 20, 2009

I've recently learned how to braid my own hair and I'm loving it! Reminds me of when my mom used to do it :'-) lol

Shout out to Mook! :-D

The BC

I transitioned for about 9 months and one night when I was about to begin my routine of detangling and flat-twisting, I was like "eff this!" It was 2am and I started sniffing. That was January 9, 2010. The next morning, I went to a barber and got evened up and felt like I looked like a guy. I wore my hood whenever I went out, and then when I got back down to school a couple days later I wore snoods to cover things up. By the 5th day, I was confident enough to show my new look to the world and it was well received!

These pics were taken two weeks post BC and it was a weird time. Still wasn't sure what to put on it and just enjoyed being able to wet it in the shower daily. It was so carefree!

June-July 2010

By June, I realized that my hair was long enough to flat twist and no longer had to wear my TWA daily. To be honest, that was getting old. Especially because I still wasn't sure what products to use on it. In the pic descriptions, I'll tell what products I began using and thankfully my hair finally feels soft!
