Record of Little Joe's injury, 2001
Little Joe, my pekin drake, suffered a bad injury to
his right foot in August 2001. We believe he may
have gotten tangled in some barbed wire. Oddly
enough, he cut the same foot about 14 months
earlier. This is a photo record of his progress.
We gave him daily antibiotic injections for 6
weeks and bandaged his foot every couple of
days. Little Joe is a very nice duck and is leader
of his flock. He "leads" his main girlfriend,
Picabu (Peekaboo) Duck, his other girlfriend,
Blue, and his male pal, Greenie. (Muskerman
Duck also lives here but is not a member of the
gang, preferring his independence.) We hope
this story will have a happy ending

    2005-3-11 On that same day, as I sat inside cuddling my two ducklings, we saw a large strange looking bird walking around the yard and swimming in the pond. Happy 5th Anniversary (story inside)

    i love ducklings i found one in the wild its mother left so i am taking care of it but i want to know what wild ducks eat.

    I love your site it's da best I love ducks and I have 3 malards, 2 saxony, and 1 malard cross saxony. I love them so much. good site thanks.

    2001-12-a Canada Geese Here is a cackling canada goose to the left and two regular canada geese to his right. Note how small the cackling is - although he's nearer to the camera than the others, he's much smaller.

    This is the smallest of many breeds of canada geese. The body is about the size of a mallard duck but the legs and neck are long like other canadas. The markings are like other canadas. It was very interesting to see the little goose.

    What is a 'cackling' Canada goose? I've never heard of one before
