Record of Little Joe's injury, 2001
Little Joe, my pekin drake, suffered a bad injury to
his right foot in August 2001. We believe he may
have gotten tangled in some barbed wire. Oddly
enough, he cut the same foot about 14 months
earlier. This is a photo record of his progress.
We gave him daily antibiotic injections for 6
weeks and bandaged his foot every couple of
days. Little Joe is a very nice duck and is leader
of his flock. He "leads" his main girlfriend,
Picabu (Peekaboo) Duck, his other girlfriend,
Blue, and his male pal, Greenie. (Muskerman
Duck also lives here but is not a member of the
gang, preferring his independence.) We hope
this story will have a happy ending
