Farm Mom's Old Araucan Rooster

posted recently that my old Araucan rooster has taken ill. Well, he died a couple of days ago and this is the first time I have EVER felt sad about the loss of a chicken.
This old guy was my original rooster from my first set of chickens 8 years ago.
This picture was taken of him just 6 weeks ago. I think the Texas heat just took him down in his old age because there were no symptoms of disease or worms.
I still have one of his sons that looks identical to him so I suppose the line will go on...
