The collar is 2X6 lumbar, built like a picture frame with screws, brads and glue, and I put a door on the left-front so I don't have to lift heavy kegs the additional 6 inches. After sanding smooth, I put 2 coats of stain on the sides, back, and inside, and 4 coats on the front.
4 holes were drilled in the front for the taps.
The tap surrounds are aluminum TT roadster roll bar surrounds. The centers are TT rubber shift boots, cut to size. The beer tap shanks fit perfectly into the gear shift boot centers.
The tap handles are TT shift knobs. The black one is a 1-piece euro-alum TT 6spd that was PC'd black, followed by another euro-alum knob, and a US standard 2-piece 6spd. I have a 2-piece 5spd knob inbound from ebay.
The drip tray and hinges are from an old TT glove box door (thanks Tu for donating it and the idea of incorporating it in the over all design.)
The drip tray backing and audi sport emblem were cut from some scrap 1X5 red oak flooring. Stained with the same stain as the freezer collar, but I used less stain to keep a little of the "red."
The black tap will be for stouts, porters, schwarzbeirs The alum tap will be for pales and ambers (until I can source a TT baseball-leather shift knob) The US 6spd will be for specialty brews at 6% ABV or higher The US 5spd will be for specialty brews at 5% ABV or lower.
