Ten of us turned out for a short Boxing Day snowshoe just for the exercise after Christmas Day food fest.

It was snowing most of the trip with a fair amount of fresh snow on the trails.

A summer trip that in most recent years would have been all on trail. This year, as we are nearly into August, the snow levels at both high and low elevations are still more like previous years in early June.

A trip to Lee Plateau and Teesdale Peak to get a view up Kweishun Creek Valley to Mirren Lake prior to a trip the following Sunday to Mirren Lake.

Seven of us enjoyed good weather for our camp out at San Josef Bay. On Saturday we climbed Mount St. Patrick, the highest point in the Cape Scott Park, and enjoyed the gigantic Sitka Spruce trees on the trail, and the stunted Bonsai type trees on the summit. The mist cleared so that we had some reasonable views.

On Sunday evening we were treated to a display of the hunting tactics of 2 wolves as they chased down and eventually killed a deer. Unfortunately both my batteries were dead, so no pictures except in my minds eye.

5 of us enjoyed a perfect day for the 22 kilometre outing to Moat Lake. With 6" of fresh powdery snow in some areas, the conditions for skiing and snowshoeing couldn't have been better.

Great weather, spectacular scenery with 7 snowshoers and one skiier. Elevation gain 2500 feet over 7 miles return trip.

With a 520cm mid mountain snow base it was a lot of fun today heading out to Helen Mackenzie Lake. It was snowing the whole trip and very windy at the lake. We didn't hang around for long and found a sheltered spot lower down for a quick tea break.

Beautiful day for another snowshoe trip. Beyond Battleship Lake we were pushing a trail in nearly 24" of fresh snow. With all the cold weather we were able to cross Lady & Croteau Lakes on the Ice.

We had sun for most of the trip, but some high mist rolled in as we arrived at Croteau Lake for our lunch stop.

Another snow trip out to Slingshot Meadows via Ash Pond. No snowshoes needed today.

Excellent weather conditions and great scenery.

Still snowshoeing after seven months of trips for the winter of 2009/2010. On this trip we had better weather than had been forecast. It wasn't clear and sunny, but at least the cloud level was fairly high so we did have some fine views and another great day of exercise.

We had good weather for the whole trip except the last few yards back to the Raven Lodge when the SE blizzard hit with a vengeance.

Blizzard and avalanche conditions prevented us from doing the scheduled Mount Elma crossover trip. Instead we pushed the deep snow around the Helen Mackenzie and Battleship Lake circuit.

A beautiful sunny day with 50 cm of new snow to stomp through. The park signs at the start of the new boardwalk and at Helen Mackenzie Lake are now well and truly buried under the snow.

Snowshoe trip from Km 13 on the Strathcona Parkway to Battleship Lake. Good weather with a bit of snow but quite a lot of sunshine.

A steep slog up to the summit of Mount Elma and a stop for lunch at the lookout. We returned down the West side of the mountain and across Lake Helen Mackenzie back to the Raven Lodge and a cup of hot chocolate. 4.5 hours , 13 kilometres and about 1000 foot of elevation gain.
