Marfa Lights -

This album contains photos of the Marfa Texas area and the legendary ghost lights of Marfa. These lights were reported by the indians before the white man came.

This photo was taken during the same time period and conditions as the first photo. Although what the lights are remains unknown they are a pleasure to watch as they dance around the sky.

I've been here a couple times, it's so interesting to visit and watch them.

This photo was taken in the 1992-1996 period. Although the lights were an unknown distance away the camera was hand held (difficult to carry a tripod an a motorcycle)

I'm envious; I've always wanted to see the Marfa Lights.

They are every bit worth the trip to visit. I've visited the area more than 10 times - all without a clue as to what they are. (Tom)

Historical site sign. This sign marks the spot where the lights can be observed easily. For those interested in more information do a net search on "marfa lights".

This is interesting - it is amazing that they have not come up with an explanation in such a long time .....

The story of the Marfa Lights is indeed interesting. I, myself, while on one of several trips to the area have observed one of the "lights" in a tree - up close and personal - Scared the whey right out of me too. It was in broad daylight and it shown brighter than the sun. Needless to say I didn't approach it any closer. Another interesting fact is that 2-way radios are unusable in this area pretty much. - Tom

A bit odd, they can't be the 'northern lights' - .....

The photos don't really do them justice as they are constantly moving and changing color. They are visible every night that a person wants to visit the area. In addition, the've been known to follow alongside cars although this has never happened to me. - tom
