Mogollon and Catwalk New Mexico

Photos taken at or near Mogollon New Mexico. The town name is based on the name of a tribe of indians who are no longer in existance. From the references I've been able to find of them they're said to be a rather lazy and shiftless lot. No wonder they died out.

How fast do you go? My dad was a biker in the 1930's, I have a couple of photos of him and his bike in my Archives album, in the pre-digital section of my site. I think he might have been the first ton up kid ever in the UK. I used to love getting a ride when I was small. It was easier in these days, before crash helmets and all sorts of rules and regs. Enjoy your bike!!!

In its day it was the fastest bike on the road. I ride it much more sedately - meaning rarely over the speed limit. Although, out in New Mexico, I had it over 100 MPH when a state highway patrol car pulled up behind me and blinked his lights for me to slow down. Didn't have me pull over though. - Tom

Heven't been back since the remodel, but a one mile stretch of the catwalk was redone last year. Was updated to allow handicapped access(wider) and probably stronger. It is a beautiful place. We'll check it out again this spring.

New Mexico is my favorite state to visit. - Tom
