You've got a winner my friend. The V-8 - Hydro package is a rare thing. When you get it let me know if it has a pontiac 316 CU in. There is quite a squable about what engines where used in the 55,56,57 years. Anything I can do to help out with the restore let me know! You might want to think twice about hot rodding your truck. A true V-8 model is worth quite a bit more if it is stock and the motor is original. Look on e-bay and try to get yourself a manual. It really helps out. The best one is for 1956 only and has a yellow cover. But the ones with the green cover,1955, are almost the same information.

Nice! I just bought a 56 GMC stepside with the v8 and Hydramatic. It's still waiting to come down from Stockton to PHX, AZ. It's in very good shape, but needs cosmetic things like new paint!! Bob KNOTTS (Very nice photos!!)
