Dune buggy-approved metalflake paint

After trying out countless paints, and stripping all of them, I had about given up on matching the original 'flake gel-coat on my 1:1 Meyers Manx....a chance encounter with the acrylic paint selection at my local Michaels store changed all that.

Thinner than it looks

The colored flakes are suspended in a clear acrylic carrier, so a good base is a must. I experimented a bit, and came up with a system that seems to work for me.
