Strangers Home Residence Fire -

New Year's Eve, December 31, 2007, approximately around 1:45 PM the Alicia Volunteer Fire Department was called to a residential fire in the Stranger's Home Community on Lawrence County Road 543. The abandoned residence was fully engulfed prior to the Alicia Volunteer Fire Department's arrival and their call for assistance from the Hoxie Volunteer Fire Department as well. Due to a electrical service wire that had fallen across a metal fence that encompassed the property, neither fire departments could approach the residence and battle the fire as they could have provided the access to the property. All seemed to have been a total loss.
