Hob Nob Fire 040708   RSS
Monday morning, April 7, 2008, the Walnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a fire engulfing the landmark Hob Nob Restaurant on Hwy North 67b. The Walnut Ridge Fire Department also enlisted the assistance of the Hoxie Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Alicia Volunteer Fire Department in battling the fire. The Hob Nob served a lunch buffet for many years as well as their selections for breakfast and including supper. The Hob Nob also has been the residence of many individuals passing thru as well as weekly renters in the Hob Nob Hotel, adjacent to the restaurant. The restaurant and the hotel have been closed for several months prior to the fire.

Sad to see such a landmark go away in such a fury of flames.
