Wednesday evening shortly before 8P.M., February 13, 2008, the Hoxie Volunteer Fire Department and the Walnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department was paged out to a residence at 2222 S.E. Maple in Hoxie that was reportly fully engulfed in fire. When the fire departments arrive there was visible smoke from the peek of the roof as well as cinders from the attic of the residence were viable as well. The Fire Departments quickly extinguished the fire and returned to service.
