Residential fire being fought by the Walnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.
The attic of the residence is where it is speculated that was the origin of the fire that destroyed the roof and interior of the residence. The occupants were away from the house visiting family and no one was injured in the fire. Three fire trucks were originally dispatched and a fourth came later to provide support. AET Ambulance was on the scene as well in case of a medical emergency.

Lawrence County's Walk of Hope had hundreds of supporters that walked the three mile circle in support for Cancer Research and support for the survivors of cancer still active in our community.

Presbyterian Annual Talent Show followed a supper of red beans and rice and a assortment of deserts.

There was basketball, moon walking for the younger at heart and bands to provide music for the afternoon.
The chilli cook off was scheduled to judged at 3:00 PM with chilli available for the public to purchase following the judging.

A Walnut Ridge School bus was struck in the rear of the bus as it stopped
for the railroad crossing at the Highway 67 crossing near Memphis Street in Hoxie.

Thankfully there were not any injuries and the students were transported to
school in the same bus just a bit later than scheduled but with a story to tell other students of their accident.

Residential fire fully engulfed at 418 NW Front St in Walnut Ridge.

The occupants of the residence escaped without injury but apparently lost all personal possessions in the fire which to my knowledge of unknown origin.
