- Jun 18, 2007
Just after 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 18, 2007, the Walnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department was called to 1403 Holly Street in Walnut Ridge after neighbors had noticed smoke coming from the home. Hoxie's Volunteers were paged to provide manpower to assist Walnut Ridge in battling the fire. The resident of the home wasn't at home when the fire started, but had gone next door to her parents house where she was alerted to the fire by the neighbors who had phoned 911 and reported the fire. The fire was suspected to have been started by a electric clothes dryer malfunction. - Oct 31, 2007
The Walnut Ridge First Baptist Church had a multitude of games, treats and good fun on Halloween to provide a alternative to going house to house or getting into mischief or even injured. Kids of all ages came in costume for the evening's festivities. The church had bowling, darts, football throw and several other games and contest that provided both a treat as well as a lesson that went along with the individual displays. Fun was had by all no matter if you were a participant or just a on looker. ages came in costume for the evening's festivities. | | WardenPhoto | - Christmas in the Park
- Dec 18, 2007
Tuesday evening, December 18, 2007 I enjoyed the Christmas lights erected in the Walnut Ridge City Park by area businesses as well as several homes in Walnut Ridge and Hoxie decorated for Christmas. Several displays were static while others had movement by the action of the lights or the item itself such as a lit wire deer with it's head moving.
