Just before noon the Walnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department was paged out to a home on Heard St, with smoke coming from the basement.

The Walnut Ridge Fire Department was called out New Years just after 3 AM to put out a fire on West Hazel in Walnut Ridge that apparently started by arson or accident since no power was connected to the barn and other buildings connected.

The Walnut Ridge Emergency Services were dispatched to a fully engulfed presidential fire on SW 4th to find a fire that had been set in a garage just off the house. The fire was put under control by ambulance crew with a fire extinguisher prior to the arrival of the Walnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.

The NE Arkansas Funeral Director Club met at the Parashute Inn at College City as their April meeting supper. The attendees enjoyed fried fish and shrimp as well as peel and eat shrimp and deserts.

Saturday, October 24, 2009, the Iron Mountain Festival was a success again and hundreds attended the proceedings and enjoyed the displays.
