Monday evening, January 18, 2010, the Walnut Ridge Fire Department and the emergency services were called out to a two vehicle accident at the junction of Hwy 67B North just shortly before seven PM.

The Walnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department set off a entertaining display of fireworks for the hundreds that were watching the display.

A two vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Free Street and Hwy 67 South in Walnut Ridge.

Iron Mountain Festival at Walnut Ridge Saturday, October 30, 2010 kicked off with a demo by the ATF Tang Soo Do Karate Studio with various forms, techniques and displays of breaking and weapons. The festival continued until late in the afternoon as children enjoyed getting a ride from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office Mounted Patrol as well as getting reacquainted with hot dogs and cotton candy.

Walnut Ridge hosted their annual Christmas Parade Thursday evening, December 9, 2010. There was floats, bands, horses, emergency equipment, Boy Scouts and various other participants marched in the parade while others sat on the side of the street watching it all go by.

The Compassionate Friends of Lawrence County met Sunday evening, December 12, 2010 at the Lawrence County Public Library Community Room. There were dozens of people there to celebrate the lives of friends and loved ones that have passed away. By joining in together in remembrance of family and friends everyone comes away with a little bit of peace and sharing of grief that allows each to remember their special people in their own way. Following the reading of poems and singing of songs, refreshments were served.
