- 9th: so it's been 4 weeks since my kinky twists were installed. as i explained in my previous album, i've taken out some braids on the side and back rows to prevent hair loss, since it was so tight in those areas. i've been washing my hair every 2 weeks and moisturizing every other day or so and massaging my scalp with coconut oil. 2 more weeks and i'll remove these. next protective style will be crochet braids. i'm thinking of using freetress bohemian bulk.
- 17th: ended up removing my twists at the 5th week. i am letting my hair rest for a couple days before i install my crochet braids. i clarified my hair with vo5 kiwi lime shampoo, then did a 30 min deep condish with heat, and did my usual leave in conditioner mix (suave coconut and evoo). my hair feels good! there was some breakage but nothing too severe. normal shedding, no accelerated growth however. i also did a mini chop! didn't cut the back since it was already neck length (argh such a diff between the front sigh).

- 20th: going into the 5th week of wearing my crochet braids! i'm so eager tot ake them down but i'm forcing myself to wait as close to 8 weeks as possible.
i want to wash my hair, but the braids feel really loose in the back (a combo of them being really thick and not super tight due to it being a huge braid formed by 6 others. growth might my contribute to it being looser too) so i'm scared to even put them under running water. i'll just continue to use witch hazel. i'll have to wash my hair several times when i take these braids down XD
