You can call it downshift. One of my friends leads free forest life in traditional tipi - just 30 km. away from the city. He goes fishing to the nearby lake and collects vegetables in his garden. He hammers jew's harps and plays didgeridoo made of vacuum cleaner pipe.

Лесной человек Икар с мая живет в подмосковной сельве. Над головой - небо, рядом - огород без ограды и пруд с рыбой, а в нижнем мире - каменоломни XV века. В домашней кузнице получаются варганы не хуже алтайских. А из алюминиевой трубы от пылесоса - звучная диджериду, не хуже австралийской.

Our Museum of Nomadic Culture has presented 3 traditional dwellings at Vorobievy Hills: Mongolian Jurt, March tent and Evenian Chum (similar to Tipi). Yaranga was made by our friends - "Chukotka" ensemble.
На Воробьевых горах Музей Кочевой Культуры поставил несколько традиционных жилищ: монгольскую юрту, походный шатер и эвенкиский чум. Яранга представлена ансамблем "Чукотка".

Once went through bankruptcy, this huge factory cleaned lots of space selling its tools. And goes occupied now - by cats and one smart man who arranged himself pretty descent accommodation: personal elevator gets him to his floor, where he has studio with hot water, electricity and cable internet... Security guards keep patrolling the area, and 5-storey building is located so deep inside the territory - that during the crisis it's very unlikely to be sold or rented out... We were drinking coffee enjoying sunrise right from his personal roof which is enough for basketball field...

Scanned 35 mm. films from my trip across Syria, Iraq and Jordan just in the beginning of 2003. Syrians were peaceful and nice, Iraqi were very friendly and they did not believe the war could start soon... Jordanians I met were mostly bedouins and deeply impressed me with their lifestyle and attitudes.

This is just an unfinished folder of native drugs and addictions I see in my trips. Maybe I'll delete it one day.
