Wow, these photos bring back major memories from my childhood ... my older brother, Steve, was the PA announcer at MIS in the late 60's early 70's and I even helped announce one summer at the track in 1981.  On a trip to Mobile ... I stopped by the track just to take a look at it ... it had been over 30 years ... so much has changed, yet some things remain the same.  Looking at these photos sure do bring back many memories.

Billy rolled this car both end over end and a few barrel rolls at Montgomery Motor Speedway on a Saturday night around 69 or 70. Real sure about this one it was my car # 79 red & black Chev driven by Earl Speegle that got into Billy as they were racing for the lead in the Cadet Feature that night coming off the second turn. Really a scary wreck for Billy, but after a check up he was sore but fine. The # 01 blue & white 56 Chev was reduced to a parts car at best. As racing goes at times Earl caused the wreck without any damage to my car, although he pulled in & raced no more that night. Billy & I talked about that wreck many times over the years somehow always ending in a laugh. Billy is no longer with us, passed away well over a year ago. I sure remember this wreck over 40 years ago but what do I most remember about Bill Clark? HEY MY FRIEND..............

Nope..Montgomery International Speedway. Back when there used to be a pond in the infield. Ask Red Farmer about it...he will remember.
