Alan was invited made a presentation at the conference and participated in a panel with top open source leaders from Debian, HP, and Sun. There was also a journalist who had covered various kinds of violent revolutions in the past. Hopefully the Linux revolution is a little more peaceful than Nicaragua, or the other ones he'd covered ;-)

The II Open Source World Conference celebrated in Malaga exceeded all expectations regarding participation. Altogether approximately 6.500 people participated in this three-day encounter in February. The event included 200 moderators from 29 countries, among them authorities in the area of Free and Open Source Software and representatives of public institutions, companies, telecommunications and academics.

Alan was invited to speak at Linux-Kongress again in 2006. So, here are a few photos taken at Linux-Kongress in Nuremberg.

Pictures from Brainshare 2006 - featuring people involved with Linux-HA (Heartbeat). Most were taken at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. Although Alan wasn't originally planning on it, he wound up speaking at Brainshare anyway ;-).

Sean Dague's Memorial Day party. Although it doesn't show, the reason why Alan got invited to this party was because Kathy was going to work for Sean in the summer of 2006. Kathy and Alan had just completed a road trip from Broomfield to Poughkeepsie, NY.

Spencer was best man at our wedding. Alan flew down for his 50th birthday party in Oklahoma City.
