Al, you are making me cry here. This is the one place in the whole world I want to go. I thank you though for allowing me to view it and for doing it so beautifully.

My goodness, look at those antlers!

I often face this problem. Flying a lot myself, especially on tiny planes, I am tempted to take pictures of the landscape, I only had a few come out all right. The windows, usually dirty, ha-ha, ruin everything. You pulled it off. Great job!

My window dirty also in lower 1/3, so couldn't use that part of window.

Loving it.

It is very beautiful, but, I am sorry for being direct, it a little too photoshoppy for my taste. Although the panorama is really well done.

Sorry, very little Photoshop on this panorama.

It's so hard to photograph birds. My compliments on this one.

What a powerful engine!

Awesome shot.

These little guys are the cutest.

What a capture. I am jealous. I haven't seen any in the wild.

ElenaNYUnited States wrote: Saturday, December 22, 2007 - 2:40 PM

Excellent. What a beauty!

Rare shots. They don't show up too often to please the tourists. I wonder if you were hiking in Denali or taking a tour. It doubt you can have so many animal shots being with the guide the whole time.

Mew Gull (Larus canus)........another one I had to look up. I never ever heard of this species. This album has been a learning experience. Thanks for all these excellent shots.

BTW......were I betting man, I would have put some money on this being a Thayer's Gull (Larus thayeri). The two are almost identical..right down to the pink legs & feet and dark eyes.

Castor canadensis. You wouldn't get this shot in Wisconsin. They seldom appear before sunset. I guess that arctic circle summer night light has some real photographic advantages. The evening "sweet hour" must last a LONG time.

Mike,
These guys were out 2/3 of the time we passed by them during the day.

Another FANtastic catch. How do you get such excellent metering on something that was most likely a snap-shot with little time to think and make adjustments?

Mike,
I look for the light in the viewfinder when I can. I have a few shots of this bird where he isn't lit up. I might have used a little Shadow/Highlight Photoshop work on this one also; can't remember.
