A few hours spent walking on the hills around the Vale of York on a crisp December day.

An uncharacteristically large album.

I spent the weekend in Portsmouth, a city full of Naval history. The weather was nice, so it was out with the camera as we travelled around.

Beverley minster is the parish church of St. John and St.Martin.
John, bishop of York, founded a monestary on the site where Beverley minster stands. He died in 721AD, and his body is buried in a chapel of the Saxon church.
He was canonised in 1037, the present church was built around his tomb.
Building work began in 1220 and was completed in 1425. Throughout the middle ages miracles that took place at his tomb attracted pilgrims from far and wide. Today, the church is still a place of pilgrimage for visitors. It also continues as a place of prayer and worship at the heart of the community.

A great day out in the sunshine on the East coast of Yorkshire....Spurn point and the cliffs at Bempton.

Well, a very early start to my day and 3 deliveries to London and 1 to Kent. I didn't have much time to take pictures, but I managed a few. Most of these were taken through the van window...I am naughty!

I've been delivering some radiators today, to the not so sunny south of England. On the way back, I took a nice break in a forest near Bagshot, I had a great walk there...and a half hour at Heathrow while I drank my coffee!

An early start today!!! Back home for 2.30pm though, so not too bad considering I had 3 drops, West Molesey, Essex, Snodland and Longfield in Kent. For todays' break, I happened upon Cuxton marina...very nice old and new boats! Overcast again, but never mind.

Just a few of the pictures I have taken on my local trips in the van. It's nice to mix business with pleasure!!

May starts with a trip across the border to Bonnie Scotland....delivering to a whisky plant in Grangemouth.

I picked a very nice day to return to the cliffs, sun shining with a nice breeze. Many more visitors were here today, the cliffs were absolutely alive with birds!

Not too much work this weekend so it was off to the seaside and some of my favourite places in the country.

For all my friends at Fotki. I'm turning over a new leaf and getting up really early so I can visit you all. Daytimes are so busy now so every morning I will come and see you and look at your pictures. Sorry about the delay, better late than never I suppose!

I can't tell you how good it feels to get a few pictures and post them on Fotki at last. I've missed being active here a great deal, apologies to you all for my absence!!

On returning from my delivery to Peterborough today I stopped off at this lovely little place. A 10 minute stroll became 2 hours but I really enjoyed it.

Early march sees the real start of Spring in the UK. These pictures were all taken on the same day in Tidenham, near the England/ South Wales border.
